OUR STORY
Janakuasa’s history begins in the nineties with its founder’s first success - the completion of a USD 600 million 650 MW gas-fired, combined cycle plant in Perlis, Malaysia.
Three decades and two projects later, Janakuasa has successfully achieved financial closure for two Vietnam-based power plants: a USD 2.5 billion 1200 MW coal-fired plant in December 2015 and a USD 180 million 78 MW wind power plant in October 2019.
In 2019, Janakuasa has begun looking beyond power to achieve its mission of empowering the world’s next billion people. Its recently established new venture arm is developing two apps that aim to supercharge local businesses and the communities they support.
